A series of bomb explosions in the Iraqi capital have killed at least 38 people and wounded dozens more.
There were reports of at least seven bomb attacks in and around Baghdad on October 7.
Reuters news agency said the majority were reported in mainly Shi’ite districts, but there was also an explosion in the predominantly Sunni Muslim neighborhood of Doura.
The deadliest car bomb in the commercial street, Husseiniya, killed five people.
Iraq has seen a sharp rise in sectarian violence in recent months. A surge of violence in Iraq this year has killed more than 6,000. The new violence has reversed a decline in sectarian bloodshed that pushed the country to the brink of a civil war in 2006 and 2007.
