The U.S. death certificate for Tamerlan Tsarnaev says the Boston Marathon bombings suspect died from gunshot wounds and blunt trauma to his head and torso.

Tsarnaev, 26, was killed during an April 19 confrontation with police, four days after the bombings killed three people and injured more than 260 others.

The contents of the death certificate were revealed on May 3 following the release of Tsarnaev’s body to his family.

The owner of the funeral home contracted by the family says he has been having difficulty finding a graveyard willing to accept Tsarnaev's remains.

The second bombings suspect, Tsarnaev’s 19-year-old brother Dzhokhar, was captured and is facing charges that could lead to the death penalty.

The mother of the ethnic Chechen brothers has said the allegations against them are lies.
