Chechnya's Moscow-backed authoritarian leader Ramzan Kadyrov says he has appointed his 16-year-old son as the supervisor of a Chechen special forces training school in Gudermes. Adam Kadyrov shot to notoriety last year in August after video was posted online of him beating Russian teenager Nikita Zhuravel, who had been arrested for burning a Koran. Following the incident, he was showered with awards and honors, including one for his "significant personal contribution to the strengthening of Islam and the defense of its values."
