Deputy Interior Minister Of Russia's Daghestan Reportedly Detained On Corruption Charge

Media reports in Russia on November 7 said police have detained the deputy interior minister of Russia's North Caucasus region of Daghestan, Rufat Ismailov, on suspicion of corruption. The reports cited sources close to Daghestani officials as saying police searched Ismailov's home and office. Shamil Khadulayev of the Public Monitoring Commission in Daghestan said Ismailov is suspected of accepting a significant amount of money as a bribe from an unspecified person, adding that Ismailov was transferred to Moscow for interrogation.
