A court in the Urals city of Yekaterinburg on September 16 sentenced a Russian man to eight years in prison for stabbing to death a 32-year-old postgraduate student from Gabon. The court found Daniil Fomin, 23, guilty of murder. The student at the Urals Federal University, Francois Ndjelassili, was stabbed to death in a cafe in August 2023, with witnesses calling it "a racially motivated attack."
