(DPA) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan offered words of support to his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rohani, as the leaders discussed in a phone call the wave of anti-government protests in Iran, state-run Anadolu news agency reported.
Erdogan told Rohani that Turkey attaches importance to "protecting Iran's social peace and stability," according to Anadolu.
Rohani thanked Erdogan, adding he hoped the protests will end "in a few days."
The two leaders agreed that the protesters should abide by laws, Anadolu reported.
