Representatives of Serbia and Kosovo's ethnic Albanian leadership have resumed European Union-mediated talks in Brussels.
Serbian chief negotiator Borislav Stefanovic said on February 22 that both sides expect the talks to resolve the sensitive issue of how Kosovo should be represented internationally.
Also to be discussed will be the question of joint management of Kosovo's northern border with Serbia, where ethnic Serbs have repeatedly clashed with NATO peacekeepers.
Serbia refuses to recognize Kosovo's 2008 declaration of independence.
But the EU has called for better ties between Serbia and the Kosovar ethnic Albanian leadership as a condition for Serbia's gaining EU membership candidate status.
The EU is expected to decide on Serbia's candidacy at a summit next week.
Kosovo's independence has been recognized by 88 countries, including most EU member states.
