Prosecutor Seeks More Than Three Years In Prison For Russian Opposition Activist

A prosecutor asked a court in the Russian city of Nizhny Novgorod on December 20 to sentence opposition activist Ilya Myaskovsky to 3 1/2 years in prison on a charge of discrediting the Russian armed forces involved in Moscow's ongoing war in Ukraine. The case against Myaskovsky was launched in October 2022 after he posted several articles online condemning Russia's full-scale invasion.
