A court in Russia's Volga city of Samara has issued an arrest warrant for Sergei Podsytnik on a charge of distributing false news about Russia's armed forces involved in Moscow's ongoing invasion of Ukraine. In June, the editor of Protokol.Samara, who fled Russia last year, was added to the wanted persons registry. His colleagues have suggested the charge against him stems from his report about Russian troops' shelling of the Ukrainian eastern city of Makiyivka in late December.
