Explosion In Cafe Kills One In Russia's Bashkortostan

An explosion in a cafe in Ufa, the capital of Russia's Bashkortostan region, has killed one person. Emergency officials from the region said on February 10 that one of five individuals injured in the explosion the day before had died in hospital. Police said the blast was most likely caused by a gas leak. Another gas explosion in the Siberian city of Novosibirsk killed 13 people on February 9.
