A construction crane collapsed in the Siberian city of Novosibirsk on June 15, killing the machine's operator. The 57-year-old woman died before the ambulance arrived. The construction company that owned the crane said it was the crane's last day of work before being demounted. Russia's Investigative Committee has launched a probe into the situation, saying that the committee's chief, Aleksandr Bastrykin, has taken the investigation under his personal control.
