Tymoshenko Trial Adjourned Until October 11

The trial of Ukraine's former prime minister Yulia Tymoshenko, charged with abuse of office in relation to a 2009 gas deal with Russia, has been adjourned until Oct. 11.

Judge Rodion Kireyev, who made the announcement in Kyiv on September 30, is expected to announce the verdict shortly after the trial resumes next month.

State prosecutors have asked for Tymoshenko to be sentenced to seven years in prison.
