Kyiv Mayor Vladimir Klitschko was appointed to be the head of “Petro Poroshenko Bloc -- Solidarity” party at today’s congress in Kyiv.
In August, Klitschko announced that his UDAR party and its 18 members would be joining the president's bloc.
Local elections will be held on October 25 and the electoral campaign is due to start on September 5.
In a speech at the congress, Poroshenko said he would be a “fair referee” and would accept the will of the people, “whatever [the results] will be.”
