Ukraine's President Viktor Yanukovych has said that jailed opposition leader Yulia Tymoshenko will receive medical treatment in Kyiv outside her prison within the next two days.
Yanukovych made the announcement on November 22 after a meeting with visiting Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite, amid growing concerns about the former prime minister's health.
Grybauskaite said: "The dominant view in Europe is that Tymoshenko and her colleagues have been victims of a political neutralization campaign."
Meanwhile, security forces fenced off parts of Kyiv's central Independence Square on November 22 to prevent protests from marking the anniversary of the 2004 Orange Revolution, which doomed Yanukovych's first bid for the presidency.
As riot police stood guard, some 1,000 Orange Revolution supporters came to the square, carrying portraits of Tymoshenko.
The crowd faced off a gathering of several hundred Yanukovych supporters.
Several people were detained after scuffles with police.
