MAKHACHKALA, Russia -- U.S. officials have met with the parents of suspected Boston Marathon bombers Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev in the capital of Russia's North Caucasus republic of Daghestan.
North Caucasus human rights activist Kheda Saratova told journalists that Zubeidat Tsarnaeva, the suspects' mother, and father Anzor Tsarnaev were questioned on April 24 after U.S. officials interviewed the mother on April 23.
The interviews took place inside the local headquarters of Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB).
A lawyer assisting the family said the parents planned to travel to the United States but have not decided on a date.
Tamerlan and Dzhokhar are accused of the April 15 bombings that left three dead and at least 260 injured.
Tamerlan was killed during a shoot-out with police on April 19 and Dzhokhar was captured later that day.
