Russian Minister Slams State Of Schools


Russian Education Minister Fursenko (file photo) (ITAR-TASS) August 18, 2006 -- Russian Education Minister Andrei Fursenko says that half of the schools in Russia have no indoor plumbing at all.


Speaking to an education meeting in the southern Russian city of Astrakhan, Fursenko said that children could not study properly in such conditions.


He said schools should be "normal and equipped institutions" and not "garbage dumps."
