Russian Emigre Church Wants To Rejoin Moscow


The head of the Moscow-based Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Aleksy II (file photo) (epa) December 13, 3006 -- Leaders of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia, which split from Moscow after the 1917 Bolshevik Revolution, have voted to reach a full reconciliation with the Russian church next May.


A spokesman for the group in New York said bishops of the U.S.-based church chose the date during a meeting and that it is now up to church leaders in Moscow to vote on whether they agree on the timing.
