Ministry spokesman Nadir Yevloyev said the two soldiers were wounded in the blast, but survived.
The blast, caused by an unidentified explosive device, occurred early on May 1 near the village of Ali Yurt, in the south of the republic.
Russian troops regularly carry out operations in the region to hunt down Chechen rebels.
