Russia Expert Melia Points To 'Evidence That Sanctions Are Working'

Thomas Melia, a former senior State Department official and a leader of the Free Russian Foundation NGO, told RFE/RL that US sanctions are causing real harm to the Russian economy, and that the sanctions bill currently being debated in Congress is not necessary to continue pressuring Moscow.
