'Crimea Is Ukraine': Kyiv Residents React To Possible US Recognition Of Russian Claim
The top US envoy for Russia, Steve Witkoff, met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on April 25 to discuss a peace deal that would include US recognition of Russia's claim to the Ukrainian territory of Crimea. Many residents of Kyiv interviewed by RFE/RL rejected the idea and insisted Ukraine's territorial integrity must be respected, but a small number came out in favor of the proposal.
