Siberian film director Artyom Burlov told RFE/RL on January 8 that he has been charged with discrediting Russian armed forces involved in Moscow's invasion of Ukraine for the third time since early December. The charge stems from his interview with the independent website People Of Baikal. Last month, Burlov was fined twice on the same charges. If the December rulings are upheld and he is found guilty in the third case, Burlov may face a criminal charge of repeatedly discrediting Russia's military, which is punishable by a lengthy prison term. RFE/RL has been declared an "undesirable organization" by the Russian government.
