Jailed former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko is back in a Ukrainian prison after being taken to hospital for a medical check-up following complaints about her deteriorating health.
The prison service said she was returned to jail after doctors found no life-threatening ailment.
Tymoshenko was sentenced in October to seven years in prison for abusing her office in signing a gas deal with Russia, and officials have since threatened more serious charges.
She denies any wrongdoing and says the prosecutions are payback from her erstwhile Orange Revolution enemy and the man who defeated her in a presidential runoff vote in early 2010, President Viktor Yanukovych.
Tymoshenko supporters say she has been unable to rise from her bed for weeks. Her daughter expressed fear for her mother's life in early November and a party colleague echoed those concerns last week.
Prison wardens in recent weeks have prevented her lawyers from visiting her in her prison cell while allowing prosecutors investigating fresh criminal charges to question her.
On November 22, Yanukovych promised Tymoshenko would be examined outside prison.
