Ukrainian Hospice Provides End-Of-Life Care For Body, Mind
All of the patients in the palliative-care wing of Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No. 2 are suffering from incurable cancer. They have come for round-the-clock pain relief and the psychological assistance that they can't get at home. Doctors and therapists say their goal is to help the patients cope with pain and find peace in their final months of life. Throughout Ukraine, there are just 600 beds for hospice patients; the World Health Organization estimates that figure should be at least seven times higher. (Video by RFE/RL's Ukrainian Service)
