Muslims In Magnitogorsk Bid Farewell To Immigrant Victims Of Apartment Block Collapse

The Muslim community in the Russian city of Magnitogorsk bid farewell on January 5 to four members of a single family who died under the rubble of a high-rise apartment building that collapsed on December 31. Shukhrat Ulfatov, the father, lost his wife and three children, but was absent from the ceremony -- he is being held in a medically-induced coma at a hospital in the Chelyabinsk region and is unaware of the tragedy. Coffins with the remains are being airlifted to Tajikistan on January 6 to be buried in their homeland.
